Arisa pitha is a traditional sweet recipe from Odisha. This is prepared with jaggery and freshly ground rice flour. In my state Odisha, we add sesame seeds to make this sweet delicious and unique. This recipe is prepared on many occasions.

In South India it is called Adhirasam and in Himachal , Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, known as Anarsa.

I made Arisa with jaggery mixed with sesame seeds and poppy seeds to celebrate Teej/Bali Trutiya.

  2. 1/2 cup jaggery
  3. 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  4. 3 Tbsp poppy seeds
